From the Start Line Class to events like Olympic Day, Connie Cycling presents biking and sport opportunities for young people that few organizations can offer. Throughout the year, we run bicycle and Olympic sport programs at the velodrome, in schools and around the community. A sampling of programs and activities is below.
Track Cycling Program
The LA84 Foundation Connie Cycling Track Program
A multi-level program for ages 8-18. Instituted in 2005 and continued every year since, the program has successfully built a pathway for recreational riders and competitive bike racers. Center of operations is at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. One component of the program is the free Start Line beginner course which enables kids of all abilities and backgrounds to experience riding in a world-class indoor cycling stadium. Click Here >

Connie Cycling Racing Club
The club is an extension of the LA84 Foundation Track Cycling Program and is for athletes choosing the competitive path. Athletes compete in track and road events sanctioned by USA Cycling. Club riders have won U.S. Jr. National Championships, State Championships and other competitions throughout Southern California. Click Here >

High School PE Program
High School PE Program
A six-week school PE program for CAMS high School (California Academy Math and Science, Carson, CA). Multiple sessions are run during the school year. Riding takes place at the Home Depot Center Velodrome. Students attend cycling class two days a week for six weeks. The top performers from each six week session advance to a final competition amongst all students. The final competition draws the entire 9th and 10th grade student body and faculty into the stadium.

The students absolutely love the cycling class which is one of a kind in high school. The class has had a tremendously positive affect on the students. P-3 CYCLE OF SUCCESS: Picture. Practice. Perform. A school program for students fourth grade and higher. The program aims to get kids excited about getting on a bike and combat lack of exercise and childhood health issue like diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. The program includes one assembly at the school, two on-bike lessons at the school and one field trip to the velodrome. Students move together with partners and teammates through bike activities focusing on cooperation, communication, and decision making.

A USOC initiative on Olympic ideals for grades k-5. Each year, Connie Cycling organizes Olympic Week activities for local schools and youth organizations.

Observed annually on June 23 around the world as an effort to promote fitness and well-being and Olympic ideals. Over 180 kids participated in Connie Cycling's 2011 Olympic Day activities - Fifteen Olympic athletes and 125 youth participated in Olympic Day 2010 at the Home Depot Center. The program is jam packed with fun and gives kids the opportunity to participate in five different Olympic sport stations and get tips from Olympians.

Connie sets up exhibitor space at events like The Tour Of California Lifestyle Festival and the Long Beach Marathon Bike Tour Health & Fitness Expo. Events like this provide promotional and recruiting opportunities for the cycling programs while at the same time provides promotional and sampling opportunities for our partners.

Home Depot Center Elite Cycling Team
Connie Cycling operates the Home Depot Center Elite Cycling Team. HDC team members play an important role as mentors and role models to young participants in CC programs. Track team members include Dana Feiss, Christen King, Kate Wilson, and guest rider Lauren Hall.
Top Performances: Dana Feiss, U.S. National Sprint and Keirin Champion. Kate Wilson & Lauren Hall, U.S. National Madison Champions. The U.S. National Championships were held at the Home Depot Center Velodrome.
