The purpose of the Start Line session is to orient students to the velodrome environment and track bicycle.

                            What to wear and bring:

                            • cycling clothing is not required for the Start Line class
                            • wear t-shirt

                            • wear closed toe exercise type shoes
                            • bring bottle of water
                            • bring helmet (bring your cycling helmet if you own one - if not, we have helmets for riders to use during class)

Where to meet at the velodrome:

Meet inside the velodrome.  When you enter the main doors, walk to your left.  Classes will assemble at the top of the track.  Coaches will greet participants at the top and then escort the athletes to the infield.  We ask that parents remain in the spectator seating area during classes (do not come to the infield area).

                            The First Day
There will be a few extra things to do on the first day of class.  Here's what to expect:
                            •  Look for a "check-in" table and follow any instructions posted at the table
                            • Parents will need to sign two participant waivers (two for each rider).  A table, with waivers and pens, will be set up at the top of the track. Waivers must be signed and handed to the CC representative before participants are allowed on the bike. Athlete waivers are kept on file through December of the current year.
                            • Welcome and Introduction:  Before the first class begins, a CC coach will gather the participants and parents together at the top of the track to welcome everyone to the velodrome, introduce the program, and answer any questions you may have.
